Rental prices increase by 10.2% year-on-year in September

Rental prices increased by 10.2% in the third quarter of 2024 compared to the same period of the previous year, according to a report by idealista. The real estate portal indicated that renting a home in September had a cost of 13 euros per square meter. In quarterly terms, the price fell by 2.4% due to the summer period. The price increased in all communities during the last twelve months, according to the report. The highest rental price increased by 10.2% year-on-year in September was in the Community of Madrid (16%), Extremadura (15.9%), the Valencian Community (13.4%), Cantabria (11.6%), the Balearic Islands (11.4%) and Asturias (11.3%). Navarre registered the lowest increase, with 5.1%. The Community of Madrid is the region with the most expensive rents, reaching 18.7 euros per square metre, followed by the Balearic Islands (18 euros per square metre) and Catalonia (17.4 euros per square metre).
